Permission To Be Powerful

Warriors,

When was the last time you gave yourself permission to be powerful?

Hands down the most important part of the day for Haven is his imagination play time after his quiet time. He loves this part of the day so much that he spends most of his quiet time preparing for this time to play with me, constructing costumes, jetpacks, armor, and weapons.

We’d spend this time slaying dragons, defeating monsters and zombies, and defeating bosses together with our lego weapons and cardboard armor.

Every time we’d play, he would have this super serious look on his face. This is usually the most entertaining time for me as I see him get in character. Then we’d be fighting a boss or defeating some monsters and are about to lose the fight when this would happen:

He would transform.

All of a sudden he would transform and get these crazy abilities and become super powerful, he would save us and defeat the boss. He would become so powerful that he could overcome his enemy easily and without a problem.

My first thought was “How come you get to transform and get these abilities every time and become OverPowered?!” I wanted things to be “realistic” to be “fair” or for things to look like they do in the movies where the hero would have just enough energy or power to defeat the enemy.

But then I realized this after playing with him so many times:

He needs no permission to be powerful.

Perhaps this is the way God made us to be.

Our imagination is such a powerful thing.

God created us with just a thought. We are constantly creating with our imagination whether we know it or not, positive and negative thoughts in our head.

So when was the last time that you gave yourself permission to be powerful?

As Sons and Daughters of the living God, we have been given a role on this earth to rule and reign with His authority. But often times our lives lack power and authority especially in our own thought life.

What things have been too hard for you to overcome in your own thought life?

For the past year, up until 10 days ago, I was struggling with deep anxiety and lack of purpose. I’ve been dealing with a lot of PTSD from all the trauma we have experienced in our health journey. It was a constant fight against my anxiety and stress everyday to do simple tasks.

But I was hungry for change. I desired to be aligned to my purpose.

So what happened?

I walked around as a super hero.

I gave myself permission to be powerful.

I yelled at the top of my lungs and felt was it was like to be unstoppable.

I got in a strong mental/emotional state in my body and made a decision to change.

What is your commitment to yourself? To your family? To your destiny?

What would it take for you to give yourself permission to be powerful?

To give yourself the courage you need to step out and become the best version of yourself?

I’ve felt a huge transformation over the last 5 years, but specifically this past month and I believe it’s because I gave myself a permission to be powerful.

I’d like to share some of my journey with you and help you to find the same transformation I have.

So for my birthday I’m hosting a Free Virtual Workshop:

The Quest for Significance: Dare to Dream, Reignite Your Passion, Discover Your Destiny
